Spring Newsletter 2025

We're proud to offer members of the community a physical Newsletter, covering upcoming events, changes in The Committee, news for the village and much more. We're now bringing these online, with a digital copy available to read and return to!

What’s been happening at the hall?

We have a new chair and welcome Wayne Gannon to the committee. The committee are looking forward to working with Wayne and thank Audrey Macnaughton for all her work and commitment during her time as Chair.

Wreath Making

Our very own Garden Villager and owner of Oaklands Garden Centre, Laura, led a successful evening back in November. We have received excellent feedback about Wreath Making and seeing everyone’s creations on their door through December is really lovely! We have already set a date for later this year and bookings will open in September.

Halloween Disco

The Children’s Halloween Disco was another sell out in 2024. Thank you to everyone who came along in their spookiest outfits! A special thank you to Tesco at Kingston Park who donated food for the children to enjoy after they’d hit the dance floor. The disco will be back for 2025 in October half term.

Volunteers

Thank you to everyone who has come forward to volunteer at the hall. There is always lots to do and we now havea fabulous new group who are already making a real difference. More hands on deck enable us to continue our work for the Garden Village community so do let us know if you would like to get involved secretary@ggva.co.uk.

Christmas 2024

December proved to be a packed month, full of community spirit. Shortly after the wreath making we had theChristmas Lunch Club, swiftly followed by the Children’s Christmas party - which featured a very important guest to read the children a story. Both events were sold out and full of festive cheer so thank you all once again for your support. Special thanks again to Tesco and Kingston Park, our wonderful Father Christmas and all of the volunteers who make these busy events possible. The real cherry on the (Christmas) cake this year was our wonderful advent trail which culminated in a rather special window created by Lynne Maughan, displayed at the hall. A huge thank you to Lynne - and all of our window creators, especially Claire & Sam - for sprinkling extra magic across the village. Christmas 2025 events will be posted on Facebook later in the year but do email booking@ggva.co.uk with any feedback, questions or offers of help.
