The flyer below was put through every door in the original Garden Village to understand residents wishes to extend the current GGVA boundary. The result will be shared week beginning 5th October 2020.

‘Review and update of Governing Deed’
The management committee of Gosforth Garden Village Association (GGVA) is responsible for the running of the Garden Village Community Hall and the maintenance of some aspects of the Bowls and Tennis Club grounds. The current deeds, dated 1959, which set the rules and govern the Association, are under review.

One aspect the Committee would like to change is the boundary GGVA covers. Currently this is restricted to the original Garden Village from sixty years ago i.e. households in Beechwood, Briarwood, Fernwood and Rosewood Avenues, Woodlea Gardens and some of Hollywood Avenue. This no longer reflects todays ‘larger Garden Village’ and the supportive, cohesive community we have come to enjoy.

We are therefore proposing the boundary of GGVA should be extended as indicated by the red line on the map. This change will mean all households in the proposed enlarged Garden Village are full members of the Association. It will enable them to vote at Annual General Meetings (AGM’s) and become committee members. As a resident of the original Gosforth Garden Village Association we would like to hear your views on the proposed change.

NB. Each household has one collective vote. Failure to respond will be deemed as agreement.
