What’s been happening at the hall?
News from the Committee
We have been working hard over the summer testing the new projector in the hall and building our fantastic new bee garden. It was lovely to see some of you enjoy these new aspects of the hall and garden over the summer, either at the festival or cheering on the Lionesses! Keeping bees happy! Thank you to everyone who donated their plants to the garden at the hall, village volunteer Audrey Macnaughton has been quite the busy bee! The garden is looking so colourful and we would like to thank Audrey for all of her hard work this year. Please do get in touch if you are able to get involved.
Summer Festival
This year the festival was moved to earlier in July in the hope that more villagers would be able to come along to enjoy a drink and a community BBQ with neighbours. Although turnout was low, those that did attend made full use of the bar, and we had Wimbledon on the big screen, so a great time was had by all. A huge thank you to the Garden Village sections for their support on the day. If anyone has feedback for future events please do email booking@ggva.co.uk
Celebrating our Lionessess!
On 28 July, we opened the hall up for everyone to come together and watch the Women’s Euro Final, England vs Spain. It was wonderful to see families there enjoying the sport on the big screen (and a glass of wine with their picnic) while the children played happily... until it was time for the penalties.. It bodes well for the future that we can created a family friendly space to enjoy these moments as a community.
