Accountability and Member Engagement
The Garden Village Association’s Annual General Meeting is a way of accounting to the community about what has happened during the year. This includes finances, user group reports, events, plans for the hall and electing Committee members.
It is also a great opportunity to meet people who are part of the Garden Village community.
The minutes of the AGM meetings are listed below.
Why we host an AGM
We host an Annual General Meeting (AGM) primarily to fulfil our requirements, update members on the charity's performance, and provide an opportunity for members to hold trustees accountable. AGMs also allow for the presentation of annual accounts, the appointment of new trustees, and the discussion of other important business. The AGM is also where the members can ask you questions about how the charity is being run.
What we discuss at an AGM
After a short welcome address we discuss the matter of members and The Committee, including any changes to roles. We cover a report from our Chair, a finance report from our Treasurer, and representatives from the various User Groups who use the hall have the opportunity to prepare a report. We reflect on what went well for the GGVA and share details of our headline figures.
